Last Saturday Ali and I joined Matt out at the field where he now flies.
It was the usual thing, Ali played in the dirt, Matt did his building and flying thing, and I hung out, watched and took a couple of pictures.
I love taking pictures of this kid. I wonder how long she will keep letting me document every other second. I better take advantage of it while I can!

Last week the Hawkins family all got together to remember our Great Aunt Lois who went home to Jesus a couple of weeks ago. Since she was our aunt by marriage, most of the family and friends there were new to us, but they all shared the same memories that we did of a woman with a lovely spirit who was gentle and kind, loved people and animals, and was a joy to be around. We spent the day remembering her long and beautiful life.
The next day we took an excursion out to the field where Matt now flies a couple of times a week with a whole bunch of guys. Here is the plane he was flying that day. He makes his planes completely from scratch. Remember that foam cutter I posted a while ago? Well, you need a foam cutter when you are building airplanes out of foam!

This time he stole her hat!
